Description

There is no published data for chronic ataxia children.  From personal experience we expect less than 5 per paediatric neurologist / year.
In her work Harding estimated that Friedreich’s Ataxia had a prevalence of 1:29000 adults.

Case Definition

All children (birth-18 years) with chronic ataxia

Inclusion Criteria

All children between birth to 18 years old who fit the case definition.

Exclusion Criteria

None

The study will by funded by Ataxia UK, a charitable organisation

(www.ataxia.org.uk), via an educational grant from Takeda UK.
